FAQs

We are dedicated full lifecycle care providers for healthy and beautiful properties. We are not a slash and dash mowing service and we are not merely a construction installer. See our write up about the Three Types of Landscape Companies on the About page for more information

What sets Rockwood Landscape apart from the others?

Yes, we are happy to take on projects or services of all kinds to help your property look great and be healthy. We have several clients that book us bi-weekly or weekly, and constantly take on landscape beautification projects.

Do we take on seasonal contracts, or just one-off projects?

No project is too small, but we will be up front with you on our rates so you can evaluate your options. Some of our smaller services tend to be spring or fall cleanups for customers.

Is my project too small?

Possibly. We are a relatively small crew, but have preferred partners and trusted subcontractors we leverage for larger projects. One of our larger projects was a multi-tiered retaining wall and stairs on the clefts of Lake Erie in Avon Lake which involved XYZ tons of rock, XYZ yards of soil & mulch, and hundreds of plants & shrubs. We commonly plan and provide mulch bed makeovers, including tree and schrub removal and install. Additionally, we are seasoned in patios and retaining walls.

Is my project too big?

No. However, we do repair the damage to your yard or property after winter.

Do we do snow plowing or snow removal?

No, but we can design and install plants and side scaping to complete the aesthetic of a porch deck.

Do we do porch decks?

Yes. We like water to intentially drain, and avoid unintentional puddling.

Do we do yard drainage, sloping and French drains?

We do not have electricians on staff. We have assisted homeowners in trouble shooting their lighting issues, or designing where new lighting is needed, but we are not a landscape lighting company.

Do we do landscape lighting?

Limited/not preferred. We have helped troubleshoot or adjust spray direction and radius for some customers, but we are not an irrigation system company.

Do we do irrigation systems?

Limited. We love firepits and patios, depending on the requirements. We have taken on some firepit projects, and left more complex ones to the construction firms (see our Three Types of Landscape Companies). We do not touch or even troubleshoot gas-connected firepits or grills due to liability risk.

Do you do firepits, outdoor fireplaces, or outdoor grills?

We work on a project basis. Additionally, our weekly or monthly care and maintenance services are quoted similarly. Estimates are free, and we do as many in-person consultations and project scoping with you, the client, as feasible. Our quotes include labor, materials, and any required hauling or dumping fees.

What are your rates?

Yes, 98%+ photos are our photos and our work at clients, including the main page photo which we really like. Our marketing folks included 2 or 3 stock photos, like the leaf pile and the stone steps. But, we do we leaf piles and stone walkways, but our work photos didn’t have great lighting or color for the website, I guess. Many other landscape firms promote their work with generic or stock photos, but you can be assured ours represent us and are careful work. Thanks for asking.

Are the photos on this website really yours?
